The Art of Horticulture

Landscape designers do more than simply  decide where a shrub and tree should be planted.  They create a complete visual package that works with your architecture and surroundings taking into consideration scent, sound, tactile appeal, color,  balance, and aesthetic effect.  This takes not only a keen eye for visual detail, but also an expansive knowledge of design elements and horticulture.

You will absolutely love the work we do for you, whether it's redoing your front yard, designing a theme garden,  creating an inviting neighborhood entrance, or enhancing your office building,.  Our vision incorporates not only the plant material but also drainage and slopes, walls and fences, walkways and patios, garden beds and groundcovers, steps and lighting... a complete site, not just well placed flowers.

At Curb Appeal Landscape Design, we treat what we do as a form of high art: it's beautiful, elegant, timeless, functional and expressive.

Mary's mother was not a gardener, so when she decided to open a nursery in the 1990's her mother commented "you'll always be dirty".  Mary reminded her mother that "if God hadn't meant for us to get dirty, He wouldn't have made skin washable!"

Mary's nursery was a success and grew into her love of designing and installing gardens and landscapes for her customers.  As a lifelong resident of the area, she has grown plants here for decades. The clay, seasons, insects, wildlife, and plant diseases...she's dealt with them in her own landscape and has proven solutions.

Being in and around the industry for for nearly three decades, coupled with her education in Communications, Art, and Landscape Design,  she has given many seminars to local garden clubs and at Reynolda Gardens, and also has relationships with local subcontractors who can make an idea become a reality.
